TripDataSIM comparison methodology

Sources and eligibility

Current volatile provider and plan facts are retained only when supported by an official provider source. Records store a source URL, verification status, and review date where the model supports them.

A provider or plan can appear only when its identifiers and relationships resolve through the static data layer. TripDataSIM does not claim complete market coverage or include every available provider.

Missing information

Unknown prices, ratings, data allowances, hotspot support, 5G support, transfer behaviour, or other features remain null or are shown as not verified. Missing values contribute no points; they are not converted into favourable facts. Unlimited plans keep their numeric data amount empty and may include a documented high-speed or fair-use note.

Provider-feature comparisons

Feature comparison scores use the implemented weights: an explicit comparison relationship contributes 20 points, verified hotspot support 35, verified unlimited-plan availability 15, verified 5G support 10, a sourced provider rating up to 15, and the presence of plan records 5. Current ratings are absent, so rating points are not awarded.

Feature rows sort first by verified hotspot state, then score from high to low, then explicit relationship, then provider name alphabetically. A winner requires at least two providers with measurable hotspot support.

Short-trip comparisons

When a comparison uses the duration category, only plans valid for 15 days or less qualify. An explicit relationship contributes 20 points and a qualifying plan 40; lower stored price contributes up to 15, shorter validity up to 10, larger verified data allowance up to 10, and a sourced rating up to 5.

Qualifying plans sort by shorter validity, then lower verified price with missing price last, then larger verified data allowance, then plan name. Provider rows with a qualifying plan come first, followed by score, relationship, and provider name. A winner requires two providers with comparable qualifying plans.

Country tables and plan ordering

For a country table, the lowest-priced stored plan for each related provider is selected; ties prefer more verified data, then longer validity. Scores combine price, data, sourced rating, documented provider features, and the number of related countries. Missing price, data, or rating receives no contribution.

Plan-directory destinations sort by the number of available records and then country name. Within a destination, plans sort by verified price with missing prices last, then verified data allowance, then name. Stored source currencies are displayed without invented conversion; current comparable plan records use compatible displayed currencies.

Network and routing evidence

Network names, generations, manual selection, priority, rural evidence, expected IP location, routing type, and local breakout are shown only when documented in the plan evidence record. Missing fields remain not verified.

Published 5G support is not a coverage guarantee. TripDataSIM does not infer local IP routing, low latency, equal network priority, or rural performance.

Limits and traveller fit

Scores cannot guarantee compatibility, coverage, speed, activation, refund eligibility, or service quality. The appropriate choice depends on destination, trip length, data needs, hotspot needs, device compatibility, and the provider's current terms.

Records are reviewed manually against official sources and updated when evidence is available. Evidence-based correction requests can be submitted through the public business contact, while purchase-critical details must still be confirmed with the provider.
